Terms of Service
Last updated: July 13, 2026
1Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of StrikeBook (the “Service”), operated under the name StrikeBook. By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2What StrikeBook is
StrikeBook is a record-keeping and journaling tool for options traders. It lets you import broker transaction exports, group trades into positions, view profit-and-loss figures in Canadian dollars, and generate summaries and exports intended to assist with your own record keeping — including estimates related to Canadian tax reporting such as adjusted cost base and Schedule 3-style summaries.
3Not tax, financial, accounting, or investment advice
StrikeBook is not a tax advisor, financial advisor, accountant, broker, or investment advisor, and nothing in the Service is tax, financial, accounting, or investment advice.
- All figures produced by the Service — including adjusted cost base, capital gains and losses, superficial-loss flags, foreign-exchange conversions, market marks, and any exported document — are estimates generated from the data you provide and from third-party data sources. They may be incomplete or incorrect.
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your tax filings. You must verify all figures with a qualified professional, such as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), before relying on them for any tax return or financial decision.
- The Service does not recommend, endorse, or advise on any security, options strategy, trade, or investment decision.
4Your account
You sign in with an email-based magic link; you are responsible for maintaining control of that email account and for all activity that occurs under your StrikeBook account. You must provide accurate information and be legally capable of entering into these Terms. Notify us at support@strikebook.ca if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
5Subscriptions and billing
- Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe at $12 CAD per month or $89 CAD per year, plus any applicable taxes.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe customer portal, accessible from the Billing page in the app.
- Prices may change; we will give you reasonable advance notice of any price change before it applies to your next billing period.
6Your data and acceptable use
You retain ownership of the data you upload, including broker CSV exports and trade records. You grant us the limited rights needed to store and process that data in order to operate the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. You agree not to: misuse the Service or interfere with its operation; attempt to access other users’ data; upload unlawful content or content you do not have the right to upload; or use the Service to violate any applicable law.
7Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by StrikeBook and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use the StrikeBook name or branding, and you may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Service except as permitted by law.
8Third-party services and data
The Service relies on third-party providers — including Supabase (hosting, authentication, and storage), Stripe (payments), PostHog (product analytics), the Bank of Canada Valet API (foreign-exchange rates), and Marketdata.app (market data). We do not control these providers and are not responsible for the accuracy or availability of third-party data, including exchange rates and market marks.
9Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory — including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any figure it produces is accurate or complete.
10Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, StrikeBook will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill — including any losses arising from tax filings, reassessments, penalties, interest, or trading decisions made in reliance on the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
11Termination
You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service, in which case we will make reasonable efforts to give you notice and an opportunity to export your data. Sections 3, 9, 10, and 12 survive termination.
12Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that the courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
13Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you — for example by email or an in-app notice — before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
